Anna Adriolo

In a nutshell

Anna's musical career started with piano when she was three years old, she was then introduced to the string world in grade three at primary school where she learnt violin for two years. By grade five she felt it was time to move on as she had mastered that instrument and started learning the cello. After Anna finished high school she studied cello with Gary Williams and graduated from university with a bachelor of education. Anna has been involved in the music retail industry for 12 years and has had the opportunity to work alongside some of Australia's most highly regarded luthiers, musicians and educators. With years of experience at a professional level in music teaching, playing in orchestras and business, Anna is highly recommended by numerous private and school based music teachers around Australia.

What would your super power be and why?
I would be multi-Anna. Preferably 3 simultaneous me’s. 1 to lounge on a beach with Danny with a cocktail in my hand, 1 to be running on lush green grass with Jamieson and 1 here at Simply for Strings preferably playing cello (really well without having practiced).

Favourite album:
Too many, but right now I’m listening to a lovely little compilation CD from ABC kids!

Favourite holiday destination:
Holidays? I have an 18 month old terror so I will continue to dream of the Maldives...

Little known fact:
I love satin, I can’t fall asleep without it.

Life without music would be...
Peaceful, but would l really be able to exist? My every waking moment revolves around music. I guess we have a love hate relationship that is too involved to go into here.

Dream dinner party invite list:
Could I invite someone to cook it, serve it and clean it up? My Grandma Gracie (she was my first musical influence), Jamieson (as a grown 30 year old man), God (I have a lot of questions that need answering), the woman who wrote Eat, Pray, Love (Elizabeth someone-I-can’t-remember-her-sirname but she seemed to work it all out), W.A. Mozart (but only if he was really like the character in Amadeus!).
