In a nutshell

Shannon is one of our full time staff and began his musical life as a brass player, then woodwind, until finally turning to the dark side with viola at age 15. He graduated from the Qld Conservatorium in 2006 where he majored in viola and undertook teaching instruction on cello and double bass.  Shannon teaches privately in three schools on the north side and is principal viola of the Brisbane Philharmonic.

What would your super power be and why?
Teleportation. Then I could fit in a concert in Vienna before bed time in Brisbane.

Describe your dream day?
Play music, do some photography, have a bottle of wine with my friends, and fit in a concert in Vienna before bedtime in Brisbane.

What would you do if you didn't work for SFS?
I’d be a struggling artist somewhere in a bohemian city.

Who would you invite to your dream dinner party?
Shostakovich, Jesus, Louis XIV, W.A. Mozart.

Favourite holiday destination:
Stockholm: The Venice of the North. It's such a beautiful city with so much happening in the arts scene every day.

Little known fact:
When I was a teen I was in a tiny little indie band which released 2 albums and stayed in number one on the charts of 4zzz for three weeks. I also speak Swedish, poor Danish, and poorer Norwegian and I am ridiculously obsessed with linguistics.
