Planning Your Visit
Whether you’ve just started your musical journey, or you’re just visiting quickly for some new accessories, we’ve got some tips for planning your visit to the Old Church.
As you walk into Simply for Strings (after parking in our ample on-street parking), a truly incredible experience begins. You can expect to be greeted by one of our passionate staff members (who are all musicians themselves) who will craft an experience just for you.
At our Red Hill store, we welcome walk-ins and appointments. Video and showroom appointments are available (including repair assessments & tuning) but are not mandatory - book your appointment. Every day we have string experts in-store to answer all of your questions, or demonstrate an instrument. We’ve got everything under the one roof so you won’t need to make multiple stops.
If you need new strings, shoulder rest or chinrest, please bring your instrument along with you, even if it is a school instrument. This will allow us to find the perfect fit for you. We offer complimentary string fittings with all strings purchased from Simply for Strings - just allow an extra five to ten minutes to your trip so a member of the team can fit them while you wait.
When you are trying a new instrument or bow at Simply for Strings, we have a large, beautiful showroom, with perfect acoustics. If you’re wanting try your new purchase in a different testing space, we can, of course, accommodate you in our smaller, more private Green Room.
Want to browse through sheet music to your heart’s content? We have a purpose-built library and a coffee machine for the long haul. Our team members are on hand to help you find the perfect piece of music, whether it is a Kreutzer study book, or new releases for string orchestra. Don’t forget to checkout the fantastic view of the city from the stage before you leave.
Need somewhere to eat and drink before or after your visit? There are some great options on Enoggera Terrace, or down the road in Paddington.
