Why Simply for Strings
Meet Our Specialist Team
Education and B2B Associate
Jacqui is our dedicated Education all-rounder, assisting in day-to-day operations as well as developing long-term projects.
She is passionate about supporting private and studio teachers across the country, and creating a supportive network for music educators outside of conventional schooling systems. Having owned and operated her own private studio for over 11 years, as well as working in schools, Jacqui has the insider’s perspective on some of the challenges teachers face in their work, in particular young educators.
Alongside her teaching background, Jacqui also has an extensive performance and academic portfolio. She has performed in Australia and abroad during her BMus and held leadership roles in many orchestras. Unable to satisfy her curiosity, she also holds both a MPhil and BA (Hons) in Ancient History in addition to her performance degree. She is always looking for innovative and alternative approaches to learning outside of the classroom. For her, that means being out in our music community and performing in early music ensembles and conducting for local community orchestras.
Education Outreach and Support
As an Education Queensland Instrumental Music strings teacher of 32 years, Yvonne has traversed Queensland in her career, building string programs and encouraging music learning at every turn.
She is the best person to speak to regarding how to apply for grant applications, encouraging parents to invest in their child's next instrument, curriculum alignment, school budgets, instrument maintenance and is all-hands-on-deck approach at every turn.
Yvonne is a Project Support Officer with Griffith University, designing new programs as well as executing SHEP across Queensland. With her passion for string music education, Yvonne is also presently engaged with the QSO Education team.
Her philosophy has been that everything is possible and Yvonne is a wealth of knowledge with practical and effective guidance on how to make things happen.
Hear from our customers
Simply for Strings has achieved that wonderful alchemy of outstanding service, quality products with competitive prices.
I have been dealing with Simply for Strings since 2005 when they ran a mobile business that catered for all my string needs both personally and as the director of strings in a very busy school programme. In all this time all I can say is they have managed to achieve that wonderful alchemy of outstanding service, quality products with competitive prices. Their founders Anna Andriolo and Toby Cumpstay have over the years built up a team of like-minded professionals who interact with members of the string community throughout Australia whose main focus is customer care and satisfaction.
For example, just recently their Education Manager, Teegan and Luthier, Ben came to our school to assess all the cellos and basses. Their attention to detail was astounding. We have now commenced a very workable maintenance plan and I must say the results have been first class. It is of little surprise to me that they were named as Australian Small Retailer of the Year 2018.
Simply for Strings have been there the whole way.
Starting a string programme is high risk; a long term investment with significant up front costs; staff, resources and instruments, plus bows, cases, rosin, chin rests, shoulder rests… many schools don't even try. But when you watch the eyes of the students learning, hear their aural development and reap the harvest in years to come, it is worth it, ten-fold over!
Simply for Strings have been there the whole way. Shaping our initial dreams into a structured rollout across our timeline. They are literally on call and Teegan even came all the way to Bathurst for our strings launch day, helping with set up and parent education. Simply for Strings is anything but Simple... they make our team's role simple!
The Arioso set up was recommended by this superb team and has been the perfect instrument for our students. A rich tone with a robust body at the perfect price for us has enabled us to buy many for our students. The warranty is faultless!
The Care and Maintenance workshops were a resounding success for not only myself and my students, but their families too.
I was delighted to hear feedback from parents commenting on both their child’s increase in knowledge, and how fortunate they knew their children were to partake in such activities. The experience as a teacher was mutually rewarding, being able to step back and allow someone else to take the reins and learn a thing or too myself.
Since running the instrument Care and Maintenance workshops, my students don’t shy away from their instruments, and instead show intrigue and interest in what used to be the "scary" side of playing and maintaining a string instrument. I have also enjoyed using the left-over resources, such as the cleaning cloth and cream, on student instruments since the workshop.
Thank you Teegan, for helping my students to grow not only their skill base, but also a higher sense of ownership of their instruments. You're an absolute delight to work with!
Teegan was clear, had personal experience from performing these services herself, and was thoughtful in what skills we would need to know.
Teegan presented an incredibly helpful video for the string staff at Canberra Grammar School in 2020. This workshop helped us to gain the skills and confidence to perform basic maintenance and servicing on our school instruments in our huge instrument stocktake. Teegan was clear, had personal experience from performing these services herself, and was thoughtful in what skills we would need to know.
The Zoom workshop was also a great format since we couldn’t travel to undertake the learning ourselves. Thanks to Simply for Strings, our instruments this year are cleaner, work better, and are in better condition for our students.
